Webinar Replay: Safer Buildings Coalition Tech Talk: RF Monitoring & Public Safety

SBC Webinar

Safer Buildings Coalition Member Anritsu does a fast, but deep, dive into the topic of RF Monitoring and Public Safety.

Increasing in-building Radio Frequency (RF) coverage has a positive impact on first responders. While several methods exist to accomplish this, the use of Bidirectional Amplifiers (BDAs) appears to be a more common solution. Using BDAs requires placing antennas at key/strategic locations within the building. There are processes in place to correctly design, install and test these solutions; however, mistakes can occur.

In this webinar, we explore a tool that allows public safety authorities to monitor the macro RF environment, identify changes, and better respond to negative impacts on their communication system.

Getting NICET Certified for ERCES – In-Building Public Safety Communications Professional Development | WEBINAR REPLAY

The National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), in cooperation with the Safer Buildings Coalition (SBC), developed a professional certification named, In-Building Public Safety Communications (IB-PSC). This new credential is for engineering technicians engaged in the detailing and layout, installation, and maintenance, and/or designing of In-Building Public Safety Communication Systems (referred to in codes and standards as Emergency Responder Communications Enhancement Systems – or ERCES). Learn more about the nuts and bolts of this certification in this webinar.

In-Building Public Safety, UL 2524 and NRTLs – You Need to Hear This!

Since it received ANSI approval in October of 2018, the UL 2524 standard has had a major impact on the in-building public safety market – particularly for the OEMs that participate in that space. And yet, still too few really understand the scope and purpose of the standard, which OEM products have achieved certification, why AHJs prefer (or require) listed products, and who are the Nationally Recognized Testing Labs (NRTLs) that can perform the testing to the standard (the OSHA NRTL program).

This seminar, conducted by the Safer Buildings Coalition, brings to the table experts who can shed clear light on these and many more topics.
