Chief Cassell will talk about the urgent need for effective in-building safety systems and how his department is working with building owners and other local stakeholders to tackle this issue. He'll also offer advice on overcoming obstacles when working with fire code officials and varying regulations.

Most importantly, the Chief will explain why he issued a letter to Las Vegas high-rise resorts requiring in-building coverage testing and announcing requirements for coverage in existing buildings [See the Original Letter here]. He will also share survey results on the Clark County experience of responding to facilities both with and without in-building radio booster solutions.

Chief Casell is a Las Vegas native and 20-year veteran of the Clark County Fire Department. He was appointed Fire Chief in February 2015.

This Member's-only event is one of the many valuable benefits of Safer Buildings Coalition membership.
