Jeff Sauntry Statement to Members:

I seek your support to become an at-large member of the Safer Buildings Coalition Board of Directors. The past three decades of my career have been spent leading technology and engineering teams deploying critical infrastructure, including communications platforms. As a licensed electrical contractor, business owner, and systems integrator, I bring a balanced and informed perspective on the needs of the industry, first responders, public safety, municipal partners, and building owners we collectively serve. A wide range of challenges to effectively deploy PS-DAS solutions in my home state of Florida will inform my board service. Our resilient and well-designed solutions will be critical links to reliably connect first responders with members of the public in events ranging from routine welfare checks to large natural disasters. My experience responding to physical, cyber, and kinetic threats will be relevant as bad actors look for innovative ways to disrupt our newly deployed solutions.

My board leadership experience at similar member-focused, not-for-profits dedicated to a public/private education mission will enable me to contribute immediately. The two-year term for an at-large director comes at a critical time for the SBC organization. As state & municipality leaders, general contractors, and building owners come to grips with well-defined compliance timelines, PS-DAS deployment challenges, qualified talent shortages, and an array of rapidly expanding vendor solutions; the SBC organization will need to evolve. Educational offerings, communications methods, and peer collaboration will need to scale and be offered on-demand. Private industry, policymakers, and municipal partnerships must be strengthened to upskill our team members, anticipate supply chain issues, and find solutions to complex, collective concerns.

A member-elected board of directors is a critical governing body required to accelerate and evolve the SBC mission. 501(c)(4) Not-for-profits fill an essential educational and collaborative role across a diverse group of constituents. It is vital to select cognitively diverse board members that will be mindful of the needs of all stakeholders. They should be well qualified, certified in their knowledge of board governance best practices, and mindful of the risks associated with board service. I appreciate your time and consideration in evaluating me as a qualified candidate for this important role.
