Kevin Persing Bio:

Kevin Persing is the Western Regional Manager for Cobham - Axell Wireless LTD.  Cobham Wireless is headquartered in the UK, manufactures advanced technology products that are designed to bi-directionally amplify the radio signals of both Public Safety and Wireless carrier communications inside of buildings.

Mr. Persing has been active in the wireless industry, starting with Motorola Communications in 1989. He has developed a keen understanding of the current changes to fire codes that require installation and testing of radio communications signal enhancement to support public safety radio systems.  He has leads training sessions at the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) and Regional Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) for State and Local Fire conferences on an ongoing basis.

Mr. Persing sits on the Board of Directors of the Safer Buildings Coalition as Secretary, an organization that provides training, education and subject matter for to fire code officials and radio communications professionals. A primary pillar of the SBC, is maintaining the integrity radio communications through proper enforcement of fire codes.  Kevin also participates on the Codes and Standards Work Group within the SBC.

Kevin understands that there needs to be a collaborative effort by both the AHJ and the Radio Communications stakeholders in each city to properly enforce the new fore codes. His training has helped the AHJ and Communications officials develop workable standards and practices.

Kevin Persing Statement to Members:

Safer Building Coalition is the only organization with a sole focus and emphasis of de-mystifying the RCS Fire Code for those seeking to enforce it, with an emphasis on the inclusion of the Radio Communications stakeholder. Yes, Fire Code needs to be enforced, but not without the direct inclusion of the Radio Communications agencies, and compliance to FCC rules.

After serving the last 2 years on the Board of Safer Building Coalition, I am seeking re-election for the “At Large” position to continue to influence change for the better as we seek a stronger inclusion of both the RF and Code Enforcement participants to avoid the “pain” associated incorrectly installed systems.
