Dennis Burns Statement to Members: Dear Safer Building Coalition Members, Hello, I am Dennis Burns, Business Development Manager at Advanced RF Technologies. I am excited and honored to be running for the position of Vice President for the Safer Buildings Coalition. I live in Mahwah, NJ with my wife and 3 children which is 30 minutes west of midtown New York City. I have been in the wireless telecommunications industry for over 25 years and have focused on public safety DAS and commercial cellular DAS for over 10 years. I am currently responsible for direct and indirect business/partner relationships across key vertical markets to deliver revenue growth to ADRF in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states for both public safety and commercial cellular in-building systems. In addition, I am responsible for the national public safety strategy for ADRF. I am driven to increase awareness and importance of emergency responder systems from coast to coast which is the key reason I am interested in serving in this position. The current board of the Safer Building Coalition has done a tremendous job since they began back in February of 2012. Their focus on advancing the policies, codes, compliance, and education of the importance of comprehensive public safety systems is setting the course to help public safety professionals and first responders to be heard at the most critical times. The membership growth in the last year alone including fire equipment manufacturers, SI’s, OEM’s, Distribution, and AHJ’s is amazing. I currently serve as a member of the Code Development Group and newly appointed to the Training and Education Group. My work with top system integrators, large distribution partners, neutral host operators, wireless carriers, enterprise, commercial real estate, LMR radio shops and consultants with a focus on public safety has me uniquely qualified for the VP position of Safer Buildings. Outside of work, I serve on a volunteer board as President of the largest soccer league in the Northeast and manage the activity and growth of the league along with 15 board members. I have demonstrated the skills necessary and required to help grow the Safer Buildings Coalition and be an important member of the leadership team to help take our message and our mission to the next level. Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement. I look forward to continuing to work with each of you to help drive our message. If elected, I will serve in this position to the best of my ability and I am committed to work collaboratively with each of you to continue to advance the positive work of the Safer Buildings Coalition. Sincerely, Dennis J. Burns |
