Candidate for At-Large [Odd Year Term]

Candidate Statement:

Dear SBC Members,

My name is Wayne Dalton, and I am seeking your vote for an At-Large seat on the Safer Buildings Coalition Board of Directors.

I have spent my career in RF and systems integration — from decades installing sound, intercom, antenna, nurse-call, and fire-alarm systems to leading the growth of Emergency Responder Radio Systems since 2018, work I continue today at Summit Fire and Security. Holding an FCC General Class Radio License, I work hands-on with local radio shops and Authorities Having Jurisdiction to make sure BDA and ERRCS systems are installed properly and perform when lives depend on them, with a particular focus on protecting K-12 schools.

Public safety is also personal to me. I serve my community through the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services (R.A.C.E.S.) under Garland’s Office of Emergency Management and on the Garland, Texas Planning and Zoning Commission.

If elected, I will bring a practical, field-level perspective to the Board — grounded in real installations and real code enforcement — and advocate for the standards that keep first responders connected inside every building. I respectfully ask for your vote.

Bio:

E. Wayne Dalton brings decades of hands-on RF and systems-integration experience to the Coalition. For much of his career he was a partner in Master Sound, a system integrator selling and installing sound, intercom, antenna, nurse-call, and fire-alarm systems. In 2014 he joined Texas Fire and Sound, specializing in sound and intercom sales to school districts, and from 2018 led the company’s expansion into Emergency Responder Radio Systems, drawing on his FCC General Class Radio License.

When Texas Fire and Sound was acquired by Summit Fire and Security in 2025, Mr. Dalton continued selling audio-video, sound, intercom, and BDA systems to K-12 and other clients, and regularly assists with site surveys and installations — working with local radio shops and AHJs to ensure systems are installed properly.

He holds an Amateur Radio General Class License and a GROL license, serves with the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services (R.A.C.E.S.) under the Garland, Texas Office of Emergency Management, and is 2nd Vice Chair of the Garland Planning and Zoning Commission.
