From the Chief’s Corner: A Deeper Dive into Secondary Power Source Batteries...
By Chief Alan Perdue (ret.), SBC Executive Director
Posted on January 31, 2023
Last week I had the opportunity to take a few days off before the 2023 SBC seminar circuit kicks off in Miami, FL and then takes us to 21 other cities across the US and Canada. During our time away, we did some snorkeling. To really see what’s beneath the water’s surface it’s best to dive down where you get up close and personal with some neat looking fish, colorful reefs, and other sites that truly come to life. From the Chief’s Corner: Are You at the Table?
By Chief Alan Perdue (ret.), SBC Executive Director Posted on December 22, 2022
For me, the Christmas season is a time of coming together with family, friends, and coworkers. Much of that time is often spent “at the table”, a place where we share food and drink and reflect on the events and activities in past year and begin discussing opportunities for the coming year. During this time of reflection, I found myself thinking about many of the activities we “the Coalition” were blessed to be a part of in 2022 and on the significant impact the Coalition and our members have made in the world of in-building communications.

From the Chief’s Corner: Are You at the Table?
By Chief Alan Perdue (ret.), SBC Executive Director Posted on December 22, 2022
As we approach the holiday season, a phrase often attributed to the title of a 1936 animated film “Christmas Comes but Once a Year” came to mind, along with an important annual event related to emergency responder communications enhancement systems (ERCES). The phrase was used in a poem from the 16th century English poet and farmer Thomas Tusser from Essex. The line from the poem is “At Christmas play and make good cheer, For Christmas comes but once a year”.
