In today’s chaotic world, we seem to have no trouble making time to criticize, but seldom do we make the time to commend. I want to take a moment to change that. Recently, various business lobbies put Florida’s commitment to enhanced communication for Public Safety to the test.

Multiple bills were introduced to the Florida legislature, each of which was designed to dilute existing codes/laws that would have adversely impact the safety of not only First Responders, but the general public at large. As the Safer Building Coalition became aware of this effort, the two of you led a major effort to educate key legislators on the adverse impact of those bills. Your efforts directly led to the passage of bills with wordings that met the concerns of the building lobby while preserving the best interests of the Public Safety community.
