SBC is pleased to announce that John Foley has been appointed to the Advisory Council at the Center for Campus Fire Safety. CCFS is the voice of over 4000 campus fire & life safety officials nationwide.  They are a non-profit, membership based, organization devoted to reducing the loss of life from fire at our nation's campuses.

We have been collaborating with the Safer Buildings Coalition for a little over two years now. We continue to work together to provide safe environments for the faculty, staff, students, and visitors to our university campuses and also to the first responders who serve our community. It is vital that first responders coming to our campus have communication within our residence halls; classrooms, buildings; and large, live event spaces,” said Justin Daniels, PresidentCenter for Campus Fire Safety. “We work with the Safer Buildings Coalition to ensure good policy making in regards to in-building emergency communication systems for our campus facilities including radio repeaters, cellular coverage, and mass communication. We also need help educating our members on requirements for in-building emergency communications and best practices for proper installations of such systems.

The Advisory Council provides valuable strategic vision and wisdom to the Board of Directors and CCFS. The council’s members are experts and leaders in corporations, industry, and public service. They have encompassed The Center's core values and through their business knowledge, professional careers, contacts, and personal beliefs, work hard to champion the mission of The Center as well as fire and life safety.

“Safer Buildings recognizes the important value of the CCFS in ensuring the safety of students & faculty across the country. We are excited to provide support to this very important group.” said Foley.
